Cole van Krieken: Material Alchemy

For my project, I built a chair out of mostly vertical pieces of wood.  It's sort of like a bed of nails, but despite looking like a torture device, it isn't all that uncomfortable.

Warren -- shadow art

I found this online. It seems somewhat relevant to material alchemy, but mostly it's just really really cool.

So for this project I started with the idea of creating a tree out of rope and wire. Then i decided to make it into a kind of 3D painting/tapestry type thing. Most of the leaves are hot-glued on but some are also attached by wire.

Hey guys, I added one more bracelet (edited my post) made of bobby pins!

Matt Weisberg-material alchemy

I left the torso and leg parts of the exoskeleton I was working on, so here is me just with the arms on. I was working on a chair that broke if you sat in it, but I dropped it and it broke so that project is no more. On the side I had thrown together a couple torture devices so I have pictures of them in use in here too. The first is a bamboo stick I cut that has rope to tie your legs together and handcuffs tied in on top to keep your arms raised above your head. The second is like 'the stocks': a strap ties your neck in and string at the ends of the boards tie your wrists to the board from behind.
