I think this is art...

That's the link to my high school art teacher's website...she mastered in printmaking and is really into etching/graffitti and chine colle. I think she's really talented/cool/I want to be her. I like her art because what inspires her are her life experiences and observations. Her "birds in a cage" and "domestic housewife dream" print series was inspired when she was trying to move. All her friends were pressuring her to buy furniture and to be adult-like and settle down (most of them were getting engaged and were sort of peer-pressuring her)...so she made a series about it :).

Gehry is a genius.
In class Thursday I mentioned that I think art should make you question, wonder; it should instill some sort of curiosity about what the artist was thinking, doing, trying to convey, etc.
This building defines art to me because it makes me wonder how it stands, what it's made out of, what inspired Gehry. It makes me want to have a conversation with the artist. It makes me want more.
Sophi wrote that she wanted to be her art teacher. Truly inspiring and defining art should make you want to know everything about the creator. I want to be Frank.
