  1. I really like this piece. I think you have a wonderful job demonstrating the diversity of art by taking everyday materials with little value, and then building them into a new object that has both great pragmatic value, and simultaneously a lot of unique and beautiful artistry to it. I think its a great way of showing how art has for countless centuries and for many people, been completely intertwined and inseparable from having a practical use. Great work!

  2. Katie-

I absolutely love the finished piece! Your use of everyday objects to create shelves is a very clever design. I know how hard this was, especially with all the weaving you had to do! It looks really great and I hope its going to good use in your dorm room :)

  3. Katie your shelves look amazing! I remember watching you build the frame for them and wondering what you were building and how interesting it looked. And then as you tediously weaved that fabric, I was excited to see how they would turn out. They look great and I'm sure they are very functional as well. So cool that you were able to take some wood, wire and fabric and create functional shelves!

  4. This looks great. The way the shelves slant is really interesting, and it looks like an efficient use of space. It really came together well. Nice combination of materials.
